India bowl out West Indies for 162 runs

West Indies were cornered on the first day of the Ahmedabad Test. The visitors were bowled out for 162 in 44.1 overs in the face of the bowling cannons of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. India scored 121 for 2 at the end of the first day’s play.

No Caribbean batter could stand up to the tight bowling of the Indian bowlers. Justin Greaves scored the highest 32 in the fifty-zero Caribbean innings. The second highest 26 runs came from the bat of Shai Hope. Siraj took 4 wickets for 40 runs, Bumrah took 3 wickets for 42 runs. With these 3 wickets, Bumrah broke Javagal Srinath’s record of the fastest 50 wickets on domestic soil. It took both of them 24 innings to reach fifty wickets.

India started the first innings with KL Rahul’s unbeaten 53 runs and scored 121 for 2 wickets in 38 overs. Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan were out for 36 runs and 7 runs, respectively. Shubman Gill is at the wicket with Rahul on 18 runs.
